Microsoft Remote Desktop app AVD subscription blocks local client connections

I am running the current version of the Remote Desktop app on my PC. I have an active feed subscription to my work AVD environment registered in the app. However, I also wish to use the app to access local resources on my network via standard RDP. It seems the only way I can use the app to access local resources is to unsubscribe from my work AVD subscription, which is an annoyance.Even when I try to run the Remote Desktop app via command line using a .rdp file, I get the following error:"We've blocked the connection because the connection information was tampered with."Am I missing something,

    :)

  2. Show Local Taskbar in AVD/Remote Desktop Fullscreen

Hi, so I wish to understand the following:

At the beginning of the day, I start by opening my Remote Desktop Client to connect to my AVD.

During the first hours of the day, I am able to hover my mouse on the bottom of the screens (I have 3 screens, one vertical and 2 horizontals, of which the horizontals are one on top of the other) and this pulls up the Taskbar for the local computer. So this way, I dont have to minimize or Restore Down the AVD session to access apps like Spotify which are outside of it.

But several hours later, this will no longer work.

There are times in which it will not do so any moment of the day.

I remember back in Windows 8, to pull the panels from the far right you had to move the mouse in a certain way and direction. But I never got the hang of it.

Another method I use is that, as it is a laptop, if I use three fingers and swipe up in the touchpad, it shows all the local apps in my device, but my laptop is not a comfortable position to do this every time.

Any guidance on how to do so would be appreciated.

  3. Show Local Taskbar in AVD/Remote Desktop Fullscreen

    Hey there, Yadder-Camacho,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

It seems like you're looking for a way to consistently access your local taskbar while using Remote Desktop in fullscreen mode. Here are a few suggestions to help you achieve that:

    1. Show local taskbar without minimizing Remote Desktop: You can try pressing the Ctrl + Alt + Home keys simultaneously. This should bring up the local taskbar without minimizing or restoring down the Remote Desktop session.
    2. Use a shortcut to open a specific app: If you often need to access a particular app, like Spotify, you can create a keyboard shortcut for it on your local machine. To do this, right-click the app's shortcut icon, select "Properties," and then click the "Shortcut" tab. In the "Shortcut key" field, define a unique key combination (e.g., Ctrl + Alt + S for Spotify). Apply the changes and close the Properties window. Now you can use this key combination to open the app even while using Remote Desktop in fullscreen mode.
    3. Set the local taskbar to "Always on top": You can configure your local taskbar to always be on top, even when using Remote Desktop in fullscreen mode. To do this, right-click an empty space on the taskbar, click "Taskbar settings," and turn on the "Always on top" option (if available in your Windows version). Note that this might not be a perfect solution, as it can overlap with the remote taskbar, but it can be a temporary workaround.
Remember that the behavior of the taskbar might vary depending on the Windows version you're using, both on your local machine and on the remote machine. You can experiment with these suggestions to find the solution that works best for you.

Unfortunately Azure Virtual Desktop is not supported on the Microsoft Answers forum. Disabling Fast Startup on AVD

    Afternoon all,

I am having some issues with some assistive technology and the developer of the assistive tech has suggested that turning off Fast Startup may resolve the issue. I am connecting to a Windows 11 Azure Virtual Desktop via the Microsoft Remote app and the IT team cannot find the Fast Startup setting on the AVD. I am just wondering if it exists on AVD and if it does, where it would be?

    Thanks!
