Windows 10: Microsoft requires PIN to sign in when I dont have one?

Im posting this from my school account since I can’t remember the login for my pc’s microsoft account at the moment. Usually I just login using my fingerprint but now for some reason its requiring I use a PIN as well even though I have no memory of setting one up and have tried multiple different PINs I use in my day to day life. I have tried getting into safe mode or whatever it is through different methods holding down shift and restarting, spamming shift and restarting, holding down f5, ctrl+alt+del, holding down f8 and restarting but none of them are actually working. I need my laptop to

Remove sign in pin

I suggest you to follow the below steps to remove the sign in pin/password options.

• In the search box type sign-in-option.
• Click on the sign-in-option.
• Then you can find password/pin/picture password.
• There you can remove the option and check.

Windows 10 sign in requirement

Microsoft should make the W10 sign in requirement optional. I can understand the security necessity in an office or other working environment, but there are many situations where this type of security is not an issue and the sign in is just an added inconvenience.
I was able to remove my W10 PIN Sign-in in at Sign in Options under Accounts. However, that created an even greater nuisance by requiring my Microsoft account sign in. I noticed an earlier post has outlined steps to remove the account sign in using netplwiz and some registry mods. Is this the way I should proceed now to get W10 to come from boots and sleep without human intervention ?

We understand your concern as you are having difficulties in setting up the login PIN for your Windows 10 PC.



In this scenario, we would suggest you to perform these steps and then check.

1. Sign-in to your Windows 10 Administrator account using password.
   
2. Now; open your File Explorer and browse to the location:
   C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft
   
3. Right click on the NGC folder and select
   Properties from the context menu.
   
4. Under the "Security" tab, click on "Advanced" option.
   
5. From the following window, next to the Owner section, click on the "change" link.
   
6. Under the Enter the object name to select option, input
   Administrators if you are using administrator account, or the local user name.
   
7. Click on Check Names and then
   OK.
   
8. Once you have followed all these steps, you should be able to enter
   NGC folder. Delete all the files from the folder
   
9. After removing contents of the NGC folder, add a PIN by following the path: Click on
   Start Menu > Settings app > Account Settings> Sign-in Options> Add a PIN.
