Windows 10: Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse pair with tranceiver

I have just received a Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop setThe Keyboard and Numpad both work as expected, but the Mouse fails to respond.In Device Manager I have "Microsoft USB Dual Receiver Wireless Mouse" listed under Mice and Pointing Devices when the Microsoft Tranceiver is plugged in. A similar "Microsoft USB Dual Receiver Keyboard" appears under Keyboards and disappears when the tranceiver is unplugged.I have tries 3no. sets of batteries in the Mouse, and toggled the power switch countless times.It feels like the mouse is not bound to the tranceiver.Amazon

The Keyboard and Numpad both work as expected, but the Mouse fails to respond.

It feels like the mouse is not bound to the tranceiver.

Amazon have offered to replace the mouse only, but will I then need to use 2no. wireless tranceivers?

 

Pair sculpt ergonomic mouse with the ergonomic keyboard from another kit

I purchased the sculpt ergonomic kit which includes the keyboard, keypad and sculpt mouse. The mouse lost precision and scrolling so i decided to buy a replacement mouse. I wanted to try it and see if i could pair with it the older keyboard/keypad. Is
this doable?

Is it possible to connect a wireless Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic mouse (L6V-00002) with a wireless receptor (the wireless key) from another mouse of the exact same model? I lost my wireless key, but manage to find another from another broken Sculpt Ergonomic
mouse.
