Windows 10: Microsoft Sculpt Keyboard works intermittently

My keyboard works fine for days then becomes unresponsive. I have to strike a key multiple times to get it to display on the screen. The performance is also slow. I have changed batteries on the keyboard and the mouse, downloaded and reinstalled the drivers. I ordered the same exact keyboard and set it up - but it had the same issue. I haven't moved the router/put any new obstructions between my desk and the router, and I am running the latest Windows 11 public build. After some variable period of dysfunction, the keyboard works ... just fine. Any ideas? Otherwise, I will open the Logictec

Microsoft sculpt ergonomic Keyboard works intermittently

I have seen numerous posts on this and other forums relating to the Microsoft sculpt ergonomic keyboard (and mouse) working intermittently. I had the same issue and wanted to share my simple solution.

Between my work, home office and home PC I have three of these keyboards and now have them all working 100%. I had experienced issues with all three, but after some trial and error I have come up with a simple fix.

Most of the forum answers focus on SW drivers or SW settings, I found this was not the cause of the problem, rather it is a HW issue. The wireless adapter has a strange trait in that it does not fully mate with all USB ports. In some computers it is fine
and Sculpt Keyboard users experience no issues, however in others, like my HP laptop, the USB port and USB adapter don't get along too well. The solution is simple, add a short USB extension cable in between i.e. plug the Sculpt USB adapter into one end of
a USB extension cable, and the other into the computer. If this doesn't work first go, try another extension cable brand. I got lucky and found that an extension cable I had lying around fixed the issue immediately and I have been a happy Sculpt keyboard user

Microsoft Sculpt keyboard failing intermittently

I have a Sculpt keyboard and it has started to intermittently fail. I can use it for a few minutes, then it will stop working. The only thing I can do to get it working again is to remove and reinsert the batteries (they are new batteries and i've tried
a few sets) and then it works again for a couple of minutes, then fails the same way.

I've tried reinstalling/removing Keyboard Center, and moving the receiver etc etc.

Does anyone know of a fix for this, or do I trash the keyboard and buy something different? It's a shame as it's a great keyboard, the most comfortable i've ever used.
