Today Microsoft released the following Security Bulletin(s).

The October security release consists of security updates for the following software:
Internet Explorer
Microsoft Edge
Microsoft Windows
Microsoft Office and Microsoft Office Services and Web Apps
Skype for Business and Lync
Chakra Core
Please note the following information regarding the security updates:
Windows 10 updates are cumulative. The monthly security release includes all security fixes for vulnerabilities that affect Windows 10, in addition to non-security updates. The updates are available via the Microsoft Update Catalog.
Starting in March 2017, there will be a Windows 10 1607 delta package that contains just the delta changes between the previous month and the current release.
Updates for Windows RT 8.1 and Microsoft Office RT software are only available via Windows Update.
In addition to security changes for the vulnerabilities, updates include defense-in-depth updates to help improve security-related features.
After May 9, 2017, customers running Windows 10 version 1507 will no longer receive security and quality updates, with the excecption of the Windows 10 2015 LTSB and the Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2015 LTSB editions. Microsoft recommends that customers running other editions of Windows 10 version 1507 that are no longer supported should update your devices to the latest version of Windows 10. Microsoft Security Bulletin(s) for October 2017

I just installed KB4041676 this afternoon and my wifi connection suddenly decided to quit working. I have a Dell Inspiron 15 with Win 10 and an AC3160 adapter. After the update downloaded and installed, my laptop restarted and the first thing I noticed
was the network icon had a yellow exclamation point on it. I opened the network box and ran the troubleshooter. It reset the network adapter but when I opened a browser window, I got "server not found" and the wifi connection went out again. Reset the network
adapter again, same result every time I opened a browser window. I then uninstalled KB4041676, restarted, and the problem still continued. I then went into the device manager, opened the driver details, and rolled it back from 18.33.7.2 to 18.33.3.2 and
now it appears to work, at least the wifi doesn't disconnect every 2-3 minutes on its own. One of the problems when running the network troubleshooter came back as "Windows couldn't automatically bind the IP protocol stack to the network adapter" whatever
the heck that means.





I have no idea how the KB update could have done this, but I'm really gun shy right now about installing any further updates.
