Windows 10: Microsoft Start is slowing down my boot up time

I noticed that my Windows 10 is getting real slow starting up. Then I notice that it likely is Microsoft Start might be the problem. Why? well I have a lot of things loading on startup. and Microsoft Start has a lot of information it loads when displayed. My problem is I use Bing desktop so Start is a duplication of information Bing provides. There doesn't seem to be any way to turn Microsoft start off. I have no idea how to prevent it from opening on startup ...slowing my laptop. Settings has nothing to do this. ?? Anyone know how to get this NOT is open on my startup of my computer?

• are you getting any error messages when starting up your computer? If so, can you send us a screenshot? Make sure that you remove all personal information.
• What is the current version and build number of your computer? To get the information, kindly follow the steps below:
  • Click on the Start menu.
  • Type winver.
  • Press Enter.

In the meantime, we suggest that you boot the computer in Safe Mode. This will start your Windows in a basic state, using a limited set of files and drivers. Please follow the steps provided on this

Can you take a boot trace ?

Here is the steps:

1. Open a command line as an Administrator (Run As Administrator)
2. Type the following command in the command line Windows: cd %programfiles(x86)%\Windows Kits\10\Windows Performance Toolkit
3. Type the following command to start recording the boot trace: wpr -start GeneralProfile -start CPU -onoffscenario Boot -onoffresultspath c:\wpr -numiterations 1 -filemode
4. Compress the .ETL file generated under the C:\WPR path (very important)
5. Upload the boot trace file on Dropbox or on Send large files, share big documents with TransferNow

 

.net framework 3.5 causing slow boot times

I agree with you, but he said it's still slow after a clean install. But even with a clean install something is trying to use 3.5 and it could be windows. I'd try the service packs then do what you suggested. *Toast :toast:
