Icons rearrangement

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

Please try below steps and check if it helps to stop rearranging desktop icon automatically.

• Right click on desktop, click on View.
• Uncheck Auto arrange icons.

For issue related Start menu check if it has set for full screen try to Off it.

• Go to Settings.
• Click on Personalization.
• Click on Start, turn Off Use Start full screen.

Windows10 File History Stopped Backing Up

Steve. Thanks for the info! Since re-setting the Options in FH seems to have fixed it, I plan to leave well enough alone. But will definitely try your suggestion if it quits working again.

On a more general question: Is there a better Auto Backup application than File History? I don't care about historical versions of any files - only current version in case my hard drive fails. I prefer it to be on my external hard drive (not cloud), and free is always good!

Since you have already turned off the 'Occasionally show suggestions' in Start from the Windows settings, if the app is still being suggested, you may right-click on the suggested app, select Turn off all suggestions and check if it works for you.



In case the issue still persists, follow the steps to disable the Suggestions from registry and check if it helps:

1. Type regedit in Windows search bar and press Enter.

2. Go to location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ContentDeliveryManager

3. Look for the value name:
SystemPaneSugeestionsEnabled on the right side panel.

4. Right click on the value name and click on Modify.

5. Change the data value to 0 from 1.

6. Close the Registry editor.



Restart the computer.

Check if the issue still persists.



Note: The registry is a database in Windows that contains important information about system hardware, installed programs and settings, and profiles of each of the user accounts on the computer. Windows often reads and
updates the information in the registry.
