Windows 10: Microsoft Store App Can't Sign In Grey box opens and closes immediately

Hello,I have a brand new computer running on Windows 11. When I first started using the computer, I was able to sign into my Microsoft account and the Xbox app. However, when trying to launch games through the Xbox App, a grey box would appear and disappear before telling me that I needed to sign in in order to play my games. I'm signed into my Xbox Account, but when I check the Microsoft Store App, I can't sign in anymore. For this one, it also simply opens a grey window that closes immediately and doesn't allow me to sign in. Now even the Xbox App seems to be struggling to sign me in at all

I have tried everything you suggested and still cannot get the Microsoft Store app to work on my laptop. It opens for about 2 to 3 seconds and immediately closes. I have reinstalled Windows 10. I have tried going back to an earlier version of Windows
10. I have done multiple resets of the Microsoft Store app. I have rebooted my computer over a dozen times. None of this has helped. When I go into Settings and open Apps & Features, I can see the listing for the Microsoft Store app. It is showing that
the size of this app is 16.0 KB. Does this sound right? I would think an app like this would be much larger. I checked the size of the same app on my desk top computer and it is showing the size of the Microsoft Store app to be 1.6 MB. It looks like the
app is not installed correctly on my lap top. Is there a way to reinstall just the Microsoft Store app? Thanks again for your help.

 

Microsoft Grey Sign in Window Closing

I am having issues with signing into any Microsoft account on windows apps such as Microsoft store, Microsoft to do and even when trying to change my windows account from a local one back to a Microsoft account in settings. The issue occurs when I click to sign into a Microsoft account or select 'sign into another microsoft account' a grey window appears and immediately disappears. I cannot enter any email/password to log in. I can log onto my microsoft account from web browsers.

I have trawled forums for hours and tried many solutions such as:

1)Ensuring the Microsoft Account Sign-in Assistant service is running and the start-up type is set to manual.

2)Running troubleshooter for windows apps

3)Deleting windows credentials relating to microsoft

4)Ran these commands; DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth, DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and sfc /scannow

Before trying these I signed out of my microsoft linked account on windows and created a local one to then try and sign back into a microsoft account. But when trying to sign into a microsoft account on windows I get the same grey window which immediately closes. I even upgraded to windows 11 from windows 10. This also didn't work so I then recovered windows 11 and reinstalled it but again I still get the same grey box which closes immediately. *This issue occurred on both Windows 10 and 11*

Please Support as Windows App Store is not opening, closes immediately after opening and another issue is my photo app not working.

Windows is up to date. Windws version is 1803

Done below steps but still having same issue.

1. Run - wsreset.exe
2. Windows Store Apps troubleshooter.
3. get-appxpackage *Microsoft.Windows.Photos* | remove-appxpackage
