Windows 10: Microsoft Store blocking installations/freezing

Today Xbox Games Pass randomly refused to recognise my installation folders and show any of my installed games. None of the advice I could find worked so I tried to reinstall the Xbox App. Now I can't even do that because every time I press install the entire microsoft store app freezes. I've tried to repair it, i've tried resetting it. Nothing is working. How/why is the app so badly designed?

Minecraft installation in Microsoft store

We understand your concern as you are unable to install Minecraft in Microsoft Store. In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:

• What is the Windows 10 version and Build installed? (Type
  winver in Windows search/Run command)
  

• Do you have any non-Microsoft antivirus program installed?
  
• Does this issue occur for all games & apps from the store?
  

• What is the date and time on the PC and ensure it is correct?
• Do you get any error message or code?

Meanwhile, we would suggest you to perform these steps and after every step check if you are able to install the game.

Step 1: Reset the Windows Store Cache: Press the Windows Logo Key + R to open the
Run dialog box, type wsreset.exe, and then select OK.

Note:
A blank Command Prompt window will open, and after about ten seconds the window will close and Microsoft Store will open automatically.

Step 2: Run the Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter: Select the
Start button, and then select Settings>Update & Security
> Troubleshoot, and then from the list select Windows Store apps > Run the troubleshooter.

Step 3: If you have any non-Microsoft security/antivirus software installed, disable it temporarily and then try installing the game.

Step 4: If the issue persists, then we would suggest you to create a new administrator user account and check, refer this article to

create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10.

Microsoft Store 97% installation freeze

If you're experiencing freezing issues at 97% during the installation of apps from the Microsoft Store on your Mac running Bootcamp, there are several steps you can try to resolve the problem:

1. Clear Microsoft Store cache: Clearing the cache of the Microsoft Store app might help resolve the freezing issue. Here's how you can do it:

a. Close the Microsoft Store app.

b. Press the "Windows + R" keys simultaneously to open the Run dialog box.

c. Type "wsreset.exe" (without quotes) and press Enter.

d. The Microsoft Store will open, and the cache will be cleared. Try downloading the apps again.

2. Reset the Microsoft Store app: If clearing the cache didn't work, you can try resetting the Microsoft Store app. Note that this will remove any customization you've made in the app, but it may fix the freezing issue. Here's how to do it:

a. Open the "Settings" app on your Windows installation.

b. Click on "Apps" or "Apps & features."

c. Scroll down and find "Microsoft Store" in the list of installed apps.

d. Click on "Microsoft Store" and select "Advanced options."

e. In the advanced options, click on the "Reset" button.

3. Reinstall the Microsoft Store app: If none of the above steps worked, you can try reinstalling the Microsoft Store app. It involves using PowerShell commands to uninstall and reinstall the app. Here's a general outline of the steps:

a. Press the "Windows + X" keys and select "Windows PowerShell (Admin)" from the menu.

b. In the PowerShell window, type the following command and press Enter:

c. Once the command completes, restart your computer.

d. After restarting, open the Microsoft Store app and try downloading the apps again.

4. Windows Vista Wont Install Freezes?

had the same problem, freezes and long installation including each step loading, in my case a bios update helped.
