Windows 10: Microsoft Store has this weird blurry/frosted overlay

Radeon Overlay not displaying all options

Ok, I got a question. The options to hide the overlay are confusing. What are the steps to turn on the overlay in-game? Not interested in logging much at the moment. Is Alt-R part of turning it on/off?

 

Windows not responding application frosting is killing my eyes

Hi community!

Nowadays Dark Mode is finally being properly supported in most places and for GOOD reasons.

But on Windows, when an application is not responding, we get a white overlay being draw on top of the window to show you the app is not responding and you need to wait a moment before you can start interacting with it again.

The idea behind what Microsoft seem to be calling "Frosting" was good but like the proverb say "the road to hell is paved with good intentions".

Please understand that I'm a programmer that work on massive projects and when my editors, Visual Studio and many other power hungry applications undertake a heavy process that make the application unresponsive its window turn all WHITE if you make the mistake of interacting with it in any way.

Now to make matters worse, I work 12h shifts that pan on late evening and nights and also take into account that I work on a HDR 1000 nits monitor (you need to see how powerful white can be on those monitor to believe it), and put that in the context where I can see the overlay frosting at least 20 times per day!

THE PROBLEM: when the white overlay "frosting" kicks in it TOTALLY destroy my eyes and feel like a punch straight in the face!

I can't figure out how we can customize this "frosting" overlay color being WHITE, is there a way to customize it or even prevent it completely?

Like I said the frosting overlay was not a bad idea in itself but the default white color on an HDR monitor is taking my eyes for a walk through hell each time it kicks in, any mitigating solution to this will be greatly appreciated!
