Windows 10: Microsoft Store Hopelessly Broken. None of the solutions work!!

After several days of trying multiple "fixes" suggested here, I have *yet another* installation of W10 that is no longer usable due to a broken Microsoft Store. Some of the store apps still work but other important apps can no longer update or some are totally broken or non-functioning. The Windows store apps troubleshooter does not find anything wrong and resetting the cache does not work. I've tried all of the elevated powershell suggestions from "experts" on this forum and have been greeted by scrolling error messages and no functioning store. Dozens of reboots. Microsoft Store Broken

My build is 19044.1288 (preview builds are not applied).

As you can see:



- the Store is fine.

Here's my recent update history:




Suggest you review yours and consider uninstalling any preview updates, for example, if indeed the problem is caused by one.

You can then install updates in turn - the Control Panel, Program and Features view is most helpful there - and see if the Store works again.

 

Store is completely broken


-There is a fix for the Store somewhere here in the forums, as mine was hopelessly broken for months and now is back and working fine . . . but I can't remember what thread I was in where I found the fix; easy to lose my place in here! Maybe someone can point to where to find it.

 

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)
