  1. Microsoft store keeps prompting that windows update is disabled

I was trying to install a VPN when the Microsoft store said an error had occurred. I saw the mistake and said that the Windows update was disabled. And when I try to enable windows update in services, it already says it is. Worse is that when I try to open any app from the Microsoft store, it closed right after. Please fix this problem immediately. And incase you don't trust me, he is proof for you:

    :)

  2. Windows 8 failure configuring updates and reverting

I agree 8 is awful! It's not for me though... I replaced a broken screen in a Win 8 laptop that was given to me and I am going to give it for free to someone that can't afford one so they can do homework at home. Yes I took it from 8 to 8.1 back on 10/09/2014. This is what I posted there...

"Great post! I found a similar one. I would like to point out that you may want to edit your OP...

    1. Step 1 should read to disable AUTOMATIC updates, not disable manual updates.

    2. KB2871398 should really read KB2871389

I would like to say that KB2917499 may also be needed as it was in my case. I also had to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter after installing those 2 updates. After these steps I was able to begin my 8.1 download from the Microsoft store. I don't know if it made a difference or not, but I also went into the Bios and disabled "Secure Boot."

It was a helpful post. Thanks!

  3. Again...Microsoft Store keeps updating the same apps

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

We understand that Microsoft Store is trying to update the app repeatedly, even after it’s up to date.

In this scenario, we would suggest you to perform these steps and check.

Step 1: Reinstall Windows 10 Store app using PowerShell

    1. On the Start
screen, type CMD. In the search results, right-click Command Prompt, and then select Run as Administrator.
    2. Copy and paste this command, and then press Enter:
      Get-AppxPackage -allusers Microsoft.WindowsStore | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
    3. Once the process complete, restart the PC and check

Step 2: Reset Windows Update Components

We would also suggest you to refer the steps as mention in this article:
How do I reset Windows Update components?

    Step 3: New user account

If the issue persists, then we would suggest you to create a new administrator user account and check, refer this article to
create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10.

Let us know the results. If the issue persists, we will certainly assist you further.

  4. Microsoft store keeps prompting that windows update is disabled

    microsoft store disabled

    Hi Truptitkt,

If you're completely certain that there's no Microsoft Store icon or any way to run it, an initial troubleshooting step is to run the
Windows Store Apps troubleshooter. Go to Settings >
Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Windows Store Apps troubleshooter >
    Run this troubleshooter.

If this doesn't make any difference, try to clear and reset the Windows Store cache. WSReset is a built-in program present in Windows 10 which can be used to
clear and reset Windows Store cache. This utility will clear Windows Store and app cache files. Since it deletes all cache files of Windows Store, there are chances that it'll fix your Windows Store related problems. You may follow these steps:

    1. Type cmd in the search box, then select Command Prompt.
    2. Type: WSReset.exe
    3. Allow the process to complete, then restart your computer.

If the issue persists, you might need to perform more advanced troubleshooting, re-registering Microsoft Store using Windows PowerShell.

    Here's how:

    1. In the search bar, type PowerShell, right-click it and run it as admin.
    2. Copy and paste or type the following command in the command line and press
      Enter
      : Get-AppxPackage -allusers Microsoft.WindowsStore | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
    3. Once the process reinstalls Microsoft Store, restart your PC.

Keep me updated with the results.
