Windows 10: Microsoft Store keeps updating recently updated apps.

Microsoft Store seems to want to repeatedly update recently updated apps. Sometimes it's only is a few and other times it's a lot. After everything is updated, they show the apps last being updated in the last few days rather than a few seconds or minutes ago. I am running a HP PC that came with Windows 11 factory installed. It only does this after I shut down the PC and restart it. It doesn't do it when the computer is in sleep mode or still active.Any ideas what is causing this?

We understand that Microsoft Store is trying to update the app repeatedly, even after it’s up to date.



In this scenario, we would suggest you to perform these steps and check.



Step 1: Reinstall Windows 10 Store app using PowerShell

1. On the Start
   screen, type CMD. In the search results, right-click Command Prompt, and then select Run as Administrator.
   
2. Copy and paste this command, and then press Enter:
   Get-AppxPackage -allusers Microsoft.WindowsStore | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
   
3. Once the process complete, restart the PC and check

Step 2: Reset Windows Update Components

Step 3: New user account

If the issue persists, then we would suggest you to create a new administrator user account and check, refer this article to
create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10.

Microsoft Store not auto updating apps

Have you used this simple step to update the apps:

Turn on automatic app updates

1. Select the Start screen, then select Microsoft Store.
2. In Microsoft Store at the upper right, select the account menu (the three dots) and then select Settings.
3. Under App updates, set Update apps automatically to On.
