Windows 10: Microsoft Store, Mail, Calendar not working

Windows 10 user: My Microsoft Store, Mail, Calendar are not working. The apps are there but when I click on one it disappears.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

Open powershell as administrator

Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online

Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

I suggest you to check if the Mail and Calendar apps are still installed on your computer.

If yes, follow the method provided below to uninstall Mail and Calendar app.

Method 1:

Type Windows Powershell in search box.

Right click on Windows Powershell and select
Run as administrator.

Copy and paste the following command.

get-appxpackage *microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps* | remove-appxpackage

Press Enter key.

After uninstalling the Mail app I suggest you to download and install the app again and check.

If you are unable to find Mail and Calendar apps on your computer, follow method 2.

Method 2: Reset Windows Store cache

Follow the step to reset the Windows Store cache.

Press Windows Key + R key.

Type wsreset.exe and press Enter Key.

Your Windows Store cache will be reset.

After resting the Windows Store cache, I suggest you to try installing the Mail and Calendar app again and Check if the is resolved.

Hey Shawn,
I did that to no avail, then I ran WSReset.exe; now I'm good on all 3, Mail, Calendar and People! *Confused
Go figure!
