    Microsoft Store opens when I insert a DVD


    I see that others have had this problem previously, but it is brand new to me as of this week. Something must have updated and caused a problem. I have tried following all of the previously posted suggestions and have restarted my computer and nothing - NOTHING - seems to work. My DVD player of preference is VLC. Having this dumb store screen pop up each time I insert a DVD is more than annoying. Can someone help?

    When I put a dvd in the player the store opens that says DVD and lists different apps.How do I make that stop and just play the movie?

    Hi Priscilla,

    Looks like you are encountering challenges on setting up the default AutoPlay configuration for your DVD movies.

    We have here the steps you need to perform to properly configure the default AutoPlay settings when inserting a DVD movie disc:

    • Press the Windows key and X key to open the Power User menu.
    • Select Control Panel.
    • Make sure to arrange the view by: Category.
    • Select Hardware and Sound.
    • Select AutoPlay.
    • Under DVDs, change the option next to DVD movie to the appropriate setting base on your liking. Refer to the screenshot below.
    • Then click Save to confirm the changes.

    It may be that your DVD drive has a hardware failure (as was suggested in that thread).
