    Microsoft Store Restarting Downloads numerous times now


    Hi all. For the past 4ish days, I've been trying to download a 51 GB update of ARK: Survival Evolved. I have fairly slow internet so the download wasn't expected to be quick anyway, but when I started the update one morning it got to about 20 GB or so and out of nowhere it restarted. I was upset, but I didn't think much of it. This continued more times. It got to 7 GB, restarted. Got to 20 again, restarted. Last night I finally got it to 27 GB and I was excited because I thought my game would finally update. Nope, restarted again, and I went to sleep. I woke up with the download at 22ish GB today and as the day went on it got up to around 30 GB and this time I really thought it would finish, but nope, it restarted AGAIN just now. I don't understand why this happens but the amount of inconvenience this is causing is outrageous. How and why does this even happen? Can I have my download restored, or something? It shouldn't be this hard to update a game, but it's about to take me a week. I would have been fine if it happened once or twice, but seriously? Five times? This is beyond unreasonable and I hope someone can help me with this.

    Hi James,

    To resolve your concern about Windows Store, we suggest for you to follow these steps:

    • Press Windows key + R key to open Run.
    • Type wsreset.exe and press
      Enter      .
    • Restart the PC, sign in with your Microsoft user account and check if you are able to find Windows Store.

    Windows Store keeps restarting my downloads

    Hi Mauricio,

    As a first troubleshooting step, you can try clearing the Store cache to prevent issues in downloading big files. If you haven't tried this, feel free to check out the steps below:

    • Click Cortana search bar and type WSReset. Hit the Enter key.
    • Click on Run as administrator.
    Once done, Windows Store will open and you should get a confirmation message saying that the cache for the Store was cleared. Restart your PC, and try downloading the game again.
