Windows 10: Microsoft store services not working

I was having problems with games in the win 10 Xbox. I immediately went to look at threads on the internet on what to do and none of the steps worked. After attempting to delete and reinstall some games they got stuck at "starting installation" and wouldn't even let me cancel the installation. one thread suggested I delete the Xbox app and reinstall it and now I cannot install anything on the Microsoft store. I tried every method from countless threads and it seems that every suggestion does nothing but create more problems. I have the latest version of windows and everything was working fine a few days ago. all other applications on my computer are working fine and except the windows store and xbox app.

Step 1: I suggest you to run Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter
and check.

1. Press
Windows + X keys from the keyboard, click on Control Panel.

2. In the
Control Panel window, select Category and then select
Large icons.

3. Click on
Troubleshooting.

4. Click
View all and then click Windows Store Apps.

5. Click
Next and follow on-screen instructions.

Step 2: I suggest you to install all the pending updates on your device.

Steps:

• Connect to the internet.
• Press Windows key and type
  updates.
• Click on Check for updates.
• Under Windows Updates, click on
  Check for updates.
• Try to install the updates being shown.

I see what you mean about the password but i think its a backward step to compromise my Microsoft password to to use the app store

Do let us know if you have made nay changes to the operating system prior to this issue?

Let us try few of the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to Disable Proxy Settings

Windows Store apps won't work properly if you are using a proxy server. You may disable the proxy server and check.

Follow the below steps.

• Press Windows Key + R to open
  Run command, type inetcpl.cpl.
• Under Internet Options, go to
  Connections tab.
• c. Click on the LAN Settings button.
• Then uncheck the option Use a proxy server for your LAN.
• Click Apply.

Step 2: I suggest you to try to start the Windows Store service and set it up as Automatic and check if it helps.

Steps:

• Press Windows + R to open Run
  command, type Services.msc and press
  Enter.
• Search for Windows Store service, right click on it and
  start the service.
• Also, set the Startup type to Automatic.
• Now check if you are able to log-in.

Step 3: I suggest you to run the
Windows Store Apps troubleshooter.
