  1. Microsoft Store update apps although setting has allegedly disabled the behavior

In my Microsoft Store settings, I have "Update apps automatically" set to "off". Yet if I go to an app page using the store and this app is installed and this app is outdated, guess what happens? The Windows Store just goes ahead and downloads the update anyways, even over a metered connection. Hitting the cancel button rarely works as the store will keep pushing it through - if at all I am fast or alert enough to react and click the button in a timely manner.

I wanted to report a bug but apparently Microsoft - one of the world's largest software companies - has no way official public way of doing this !.

To Microsoft's paid tech support staff: this isn't really a question that needs your answer. And I know perfectly well that the "off" setting disables some of the auto-update behavior, but obviously as I can attest, not all of it. You do not need to respond here with badly copy-pasted templates that doesn't resolve anything. If you ask me, you shouldn't engage in the community at all. With all due respect and sincere honesty, I simply can not recall having ever read a reply from you that actually makes sense, is applicable or resolves the issue. Please be so kind as to consider this forum thread as nothing but a bug report and forward it to whomever it may concern. If I set auto-update to off, then I want it off, period.

Thank you! All the best, Martin.

    :)

Microsoft Store not auto updating apps

Have you used this simple step to update the apps:

    Turn on automatic app updates

    1. Select the Start screen, then select Microsoft Store.
    2. In Microsoft Store at the upper right, select the account menu (the three dots) and then select Settings.
    3. Under App updates, set Update apps automatically to On.
