Windows 10: Microsoft Store Updates Not Working

Recently, the Microsoft Store's update part, which keeps all the Store apps up to date started misbehaving. Every time I click "Get updates", it lists the exact same list of 28 apps every single time. Once it gets to updating the Store itself, the Store closes, but doesn't reopen, and I assume it closes itself completely. When I check for updates again, it lists the 28 apps again, as if the whole previous process didn't even happen. Even when I remove the Store from the update queue, the same issue persists, as if those apps don't even get updated whatsoever.


I tried using WSReset, the Settings app's own Store Apps troubleshooter all it gave me was try turning UAC on, even though all I did was tone it down so no dumb darkening the desktop, so it is still technically on, and resetting Windows Update. None worked, and some tiles on the Start Menu look like they are stuck in an update cycle.


I'd LOVE to know how to solve this issue, without resetting my PC.

I'm using the latest stable version of Windows 10 Pro, version 20H2, build 19042.804.

Step 1: I suggest you to run Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter
and check.

1. Press
Windows + X keys from the keyboard, click on Control Panel.

2. In the
Control Panel window, select Category and then select
Large icons.

3. Click on
Troubleshooting.

4. Click
View all and then click Windows Store Apps.

5. Click
Next and follow on-screen instructions.

Step 2: I suggest you to install all the pending updates on your device.

Steps:

• Connect to the internet.
• Press Windows key and type
  updates.
• Click on Check for updates.
• Under Windows Updates, click on
  Check for updates.
• Try to install the updates being shown.

File corruption is a possible reason why Microsoft Store is not working.

To resolve this issue, follow the steps below:

• Install any uninstalled updates to Windows. Go to Settings >
  Update & Security > Check for Updates.
• If Microsoft Store still doesn't launch, try these steps:
  • Check for
    connection problems.
  • Check if you are signed in with a
    Microsoft account.
  • Check your time and location settings. Go to Settings >
    Time & Language.
• Re-register Microsoft Store:
  • Open Settings.
  • Go to Apps & features.
  • Select Store.
  • Click Advanced options.
  • Click the Reset button.
  • Click Reset again to confirm.
• Reset the Microsoft Store cache:
  • Press Windows + R keys to open the run command box.
  • Type WSReset, then try launching Microsoft Store and sign in.

I see what you mean about the password but i think its a backward step to compromise my Microsoft password to to use the app store
