Windows 10: Microsoft Store useless, Xbox App won't sign me in.

Hello all.

I've been having issues with my Microsoft Store & Xbox App. Constant, almost always different error codes when trying to install OR EVEN UPDATE apps/games through the MS Store, and the Xbox App won't sign me in. I click "Sign In" and it literally does nothing. I have tried many fixes & really do not want to have to reinstall windows.

I have;

-cleared the tokenbroker cache folders/files in both C:\Users\(user)\AppData\Local\Microsoft & C:\Users\(user)\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider_8wekyb3d8bbwe

-Ran the troubleshooter for MS Store that was provided in an MS forum post I found(provided by an actual MS Staff member iirc)

-Reinstalled the Xbox App

There's probably something I've done that I've already forgotten about.





What the hell do I do? I'm getting really upset. I just want to use my game pass sub from Discord but NoOoOoOo, I'm apparently not allowed......

Xbox Insider Hub does not appear in the Microsoft Store

Hi,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

1. Did you make any changes to the PC prior to this issue?
   
2. Have you signed in using the Microsoft account?
   
3. Are you able to search for other apps on the Microsoft Store?
   

However, you may follow these steps to check if that helps.

Step 1: Suggest you to run the apps troubleshooter to
fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store.

Step 2: You can also try to manually
download the Xbox Insider Hub from the link.

However, please let us know:

• Do you receive any error message?
  
• Are you aware of any changes made to the computer recently?
  
• Which build version of Windows 10 are you using currently? To check type:
  winver in the search bar on the Taskbar and hit
  Enter.

Microsoft Store doesn't launch.



Method 1: Store app troubleshooter



I would suggest you to run the Store app troubleshooter and check. Refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows Logo key + I, to open Settings.
   
2. Click on Update & Security and select Troubleshoot from the left pane.
   
3. Scroll down, click on Windows Store apps and select Run the troubleshooter.
   
4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
   

Method 2: Re-register apps



If Store app troubleshooter doesn’t work, I would suggest you to try re-registering the apps using PowerShell. Refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows Logo key + X, and select
   Windows PowerShell (Admin).
   
2. Paste the following command and press Enter:
   Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
   
3. Once the process is complete, restart the computer and check.
   

Method 3: New user account



If re-registering the apps didn’t work, try creating a new user account and check if the issue persists. Refer the article

your concern by answering the following questions:

• Have you made any changes to your device or to your Xbox account before encountering this issue?
• Are you using the same Microsoft account to sign in to the Xbox app and your Windows 10 PC?
• Are you using an administrator user profile?
• Have you tried signing in to other built-in Windows 10 apps like the Store app to check if the same issue occurs?

Meanwhile, we suggest signing in to a different user profile. This can help determine if this is due to corrupted user data. Here are the steps:

• Press the Windows button on your device or keyboard, or select the
  Windows icon from the bottom-left corner of the main screen.
• Select your account name from the top-left corner of the menu, and then select
  Switch account.
• Sign in with an account other than the one you were using.
