    Microsoft Store

This whole ordeal started with AppXSvc taking up way too much cpu usage, I searched the internet and came to the conclusion it was windows store bugging out and not working properly.

I tried wsreset.exe and nothing happened, so I disabled the store in registry and group policy editor.

After a while I re-enabled it because it my Office 365 applications required it to run, but the store was still bugged, AppXSvc just worked properly

    Windows Defender & Firewall

The windows security application flashes then instantly closes, this makes it so I can't access the defender or firewall, this isn't too much of an issue security wise as I have malwarebytes.

I'm not sure why they don't work, the reason itself might be malwarebytes.

    What I need help with

The windows Photo application had not been working too well, so I went into programs & applications to reset it, but in order to reset, you need to reinstall it. You reinstall it through microsoft store.

    Microsoft store does not work.

I tried to fix microsoft store using powershell commands, they returned with something along the lines of "Unable to do this because windows firewall has not been started.

I have tried to start windows firewall through services.msc but it comes up with error 1058.

I tried forcing windows defender to start with the DisableAntiSpyware in registry editor.

I have tried the whole DISM and sfc process

I even wanted to do an in-place upgrade inorder to fix my windows-related issues with my pc, but the installing part is stuck at 0% I'm not sure what causes this I think it may be linked to the firewall, I have tried running it in admin mode

    Conclusion

I'm trying to start windows firewall and windows defender so that I can fix windows store in order to fix my windows applications.

My computer might even be compromised, that may be why defenders or firewall isn't able to start, but I'm hoping this isn't the case.

    :)

    Windows Defender Released

Microsoft has released the final version of its Windows Defender anti-spyware utility. Windows Defender is a product of the Microsoft acquisition of GIANT Software. Previously known as Windows AntiSpyware, after a two years beta period it's now available for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 under the name Windows Defender. Windows Defender incorporates Real-Time Protection to monitor systems for spyware activity, automated spyware removal with scheduled scans, full integration with Internet Explorer 7.0 and automatic spyware definition updates from Microsoft. Windows Defender is available freely to all customers running a genuine copy of Windows. Microsoft has also announced that customers will each be allowed to report two support incidents for free with Windows XP and Windows Server 2003.

    Hi Faye,

Third-party antivirus programs usually have their own uninstallers provided by the software developer. We suggest checking the developer's website or contacting their support team for assistance with uninstalling their program. After fully uninstalling the
third-party antivirus software, you may turn on Windows Defender by following these steps:

    • Click Start.
    • Type Windows Defender Security Center and press Enter.
    • Click Firewall and network protection.
    • Click Private (discoverable) network and click On.
    • Click Public (non-discoverable) network and click On.

Let us know if you have any other concerns about Windows Defender.
