Windows 10: Microsoft stuck in reboot after factory settings restored

    Microsoft stuck in reboot after factory settings restored


    Hello


    I reset factory settings on my surface pro and now it is stuck in a reboot cycle. The message says:


    “Instal windows - the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows click ok to restart the computer and then restart the installation”.


    Every time I click “Ok” it repeats the same process. I have attempted holding down F10 and F9 ... every key for that matter and it doesnt work.


    I have now purchased a bootable USB with Windows 10 on it so I can try to reinstall that way but when I restart and insert the USB it does nothing. Just the same process!!

    Could you describe how you tried to 'reset' it? Was there a restore point in use?

    Being stuck in the Bios is never a good thing. Make sure your hard drive is working properly and your HD is set to 1st in the boot list.
