Windows 10: Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 : Website contents keep disappearing after leaving the laptop idle

The website contents keep disappearing after leaving my laptop idle. Even though I click the web address, nothing shows. How can I solve this problem? My laptop is Surface 3 and Window 10.

Microsoft is looking into reports of Surface Laptop 3 cracked screens

For the past couple of months, a number of Surface Laptop 3 customers have been reporting the screens of their new devices were cracking, allegedly through no fault of their own. Microsoft has been advising the majority of those users that they will have to pay out of pocket to replace the devices, according to various forum posts. However, the company has begun investigating what's going on.

Some users on Reddit and Microsoft's Answers forums have been reporting for the past month or so that their Surface Laptop 3 PCs, which they've only had for a few months, have been cracking along the corners or the entire fronts of the screens. The issues may be affecting the Surface Laptop 3 devices with aluminum cases, not the ones covered with Alcantara fabric.

One Redditor, "Bluehaze013," said he believed the issue, which affected his device, could have something to do with Microsoft "removing the gasket between the glass and the metal."

Surface Laptop 3 with external monitor

Hi All,

Has anyone come across an issue with an external monitor blacking out while connected to a Surface Laptop 3? I have the laptop connected to a widescreen laptop with the Surface Dock. Both work fine however, once every hour or so the external monitor blacks out and comes back.

I've completed the following:

Updated laptop drivers and firmware

Updated monitor drivers

Swapped out monitor

Boot Surface Laptop to USB - no Volume button

Hello Jimmy,

This doesn't list the "Surface Laptop", but you might give it a try to see.

*Arrow Boot Microsoft Surface from a USB device

Surface Studio, Surface Book, Surface Pro 4, Surface 3, or Surface Pro 3 with a configured boot order in UEFI

Step 1: Shut down your Surface.
Step 2: Insert the bootable USB drive into the USB port on your Surface.
Step 3: Press the power button to turn it on.
Step 4: Follow the on-screen instructions to boot from your USB drive.

Otherwise, you should be able to use OPTION ONE below to boot from the USB from advanced startup.
