Windows 10: Microsoft Surface Precision Mouse & Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center

I purchased a Microsoft Surface Precision Mouse as I wanted a Bluetooth rechargeable mouse.In Win11 beta and still in win11 release, the mouse side buttons keep randomly activating while using my mouse.It gets really bad on the side middle button. It brings up this desktop overlay of the layout and it acts like a button is stuck and cycles endlessly through all of the options on the screen. Even if I manage to get out of this desktop layout. And sometimes I have to press the button to shut down the PC to get it to stop.On reboot, it is fine for a while.Also, my disability requires me to dis

Surface Precision Mouse freezes my Surface when opening Keyboard and Mouse Center

The precision mouse has worked for a few months perfectly until recently. A few days ago the battery showed low so I charged the mouse. And after that the mouse lost bluetooth connection to my Surface Pro 4. Then I removed the mouse from the bluetooth device
list and paired it with Surface again. It worked fine but I lost all my stored configurations for all those 3 slots, so I planned to use the Keyboard and Mouse Center software to re-configure it.

Then the disaster began. When opening the Keyboard and Mouse Center software, the mouse lost connection and reconnects, repeately for a few times during which the software and Surface seemed to have been frozen. And after a few minutes it showed "No supported
device detected."

I also tried using a few USB cables to connect and the problem persists. Actually, using the USB connection is eaxctly the same issue with Bluetooth connection. Without opening the software, the mouse works like an ordinary one. But after opening it, the
USB connection keeps losing and reconnecting. I hear the sound of disconnecting a USB device and reconnecting it repeatedly playing (every about 5 seconds) and Surface totally freezes. (The touchpad and keyboard and touchscreen also freeze when opening this
Keyboard and Mouse Center software WITH the Precision Mouse connected) After 3 times of disconnecting and reconnecting, it shows "No supported device detected".

 

Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center does not recognize Microsoft Surface Laptop keyboard

Problem:

1. I have a brand new Microsoft Surface Laptop, with Windows 10 Pro, which naturally comes with a brand new Microsoft keyboard hardwired to the laptop.
   
2. I installed the
   Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center to reassign some of the keyboard keys.
3. However, Microsoft's keyboard program does not detect Microsoft's own keyboard!

Failed solutions:

1. All the help pages say "update your drivers" or "unplug the USB device and plug it back in." However, this is a laptop keyboard, which is hardwired, not a USB keyboard. It is working fine, so there's no reason why the program should not detect it.
2. Yes, EVERYTHING is up to date, including ALL Windows Updates and ALL keyboard drivers.
3. Yes, I tried the troubleshooter.
4. Yes, I checked
   the list of "supported devices" that Microsoft lists here. But they are all mice, none of them are keyboards.
5. Screenshots of my steps are below -- Microsoft moderators, please don't dismiss me by saying "run the troubleshooter" or "update your drivers" or "turn it off and on again."

Questions:

1. Has anyone actually SEEN the Mouse and Keyboard Center recognize a Windows laptop keyboard? Not a USB external keyboard, the actual physical laptop keyboard?
2. Does the Mouse and Keyboard Center actually work with laptops? There's no documentation suggesting it shouldn't, especially with Microsoft's own hardware (like the Surface Laptop).
3. Where is there a list of what keyboards work with the "Mouse and *Keyboard* Center"?
