Windows 10: Microsoft Surface Pro 6 will not print color

I have a Microsoft Surface Pro 6. I bought it in Dec. I also have an HP 5540 All-in-One printer. The printer prints color from all 3 of my phones, tablets, and husband's macbook henceforth, crapbook. I bought the Surface, because I HATE apple. You don't understand. I HATE EVERYTHING APPLE. I desperately need this Surface Pro to print in color. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, unplugged and plugged the printer, restarted the Surface Pro, updated printer drivers, and there is not option in any program to choose grayscale/color. No, not even in Printer preferences, manage printers, or in any individual program's print men\ Please, help me. I cannot let my husband think that his 6 year old horrid crapple crapbook is better than my brand new Microsoft Surface Pro 6. I am a Microsoft fan. I need a win. And I need color printing.

I understand that you are facing issues while trying to print in color while using Surface Pro.​​ As you have mentioned that you are able to print in greyscale, it is possible that printer settings are set to print in greyscale. We will certainly assist
you with this issue.



However, we would like to know the details requested below:

• What is the make and model of the printer that you are using?
  
• Which application are you are using to print?
  
• Are you aware of any changes made to the computer recently?
  

I would suggest you to check the printing preferences and check if the Print in Gray Scale option is enabled. Refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows Logo key + R, to open
   Run dialog box.
   
2. Type control printers and click on
   OK.
   
3. Right click on the Printer that you are using, and select
   Printing Preferences.
   
4. Navigate to the Color tab and select the option
   Print in color. (If you do not see Color tab, you may want to check the
   Advanced options and check if Print in Grayscale is
   off.)
   
5. Click on OK and check if you are able to print in color.

Surface Pro won't print in color

If you have found a resolution, do you mind sharing? My Surface Pro 6 is having the same issues. I also have the HP 3820 series that prints color with no issue from my iphone, ipad or my old Dell laptop. I have enabled every color option imaginable on
every program, and still it will not print color. Though it did at one time. Any guidance will be so appreciated! Thank you!

 

Surface Pro not printing in color

I have a Microsoft Surface Pro which is not printing in color on my HP Deskjet printer. I have completely uninstalled the printer on the device manager and reinstalled it with no success, as well as updating Windows
10. I know that it is not an issue with the printer as I can print in color with no issues from my phone and other devices. When exploring printer properties, I cannot see a setting where my printer would be limited to greyscale only as there are no color
options. Any advice?
