Windows 10: Microsoft Surface Wireless Ergonomic Keyboard lag

I have a Microsoft Surface Wireless Ergonomic Bluetooth Keyboard, and I am running Windows 10 Version 21H1 OS Build 19043.1165. Much like the person who asked this question, anytime I go ~1 minute or more without typing, the ENTIRE computer freezes for a second presumably while the bluetooth keyboard is woken up and then resumes functioning. I can then type like normal, so long as I don't leave the keyboard alone again - if I do, the lag returns. I tried the steps identified in the response to that other question; however, I could only do the latter unchecking "Allow the computer to turn

Issues with Surface Ergonomic Keyboard

To isolate the concern, is your computer also freezing when you're not using the new keyboard? This is for us to know if the issue is being caused by the keyboard or a program on your computer.

In the meantime, kindly uninstall the Surface Ergonomic Keyboard drive, and then re-install it. To do this, follow the steps below:

• (Make sure the Surface Ergonomic Keyboard is connected) Right click the Start button.
• Click Device Manager.
• Expand Keyboards.
• Look for the driver of the Surface Ergonomic Keyboard. Right click the Surface Ergonomic Keyboard driver, and the choose,
  Uninstall.
• On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click the
  Delete the driver software for this device option to delete the driver package that was used for the device.
• After deleting the driver, visit this
  link and download the driver software.
• After downloading the driver software, run it to install.
• After installing the driver, restart your computer.
• After restarting, observe if your computer will freeze after waking up the Surface Ergonomic Keyboard.

Ergonomic keyboard only by Microsoft?

I had two erognomic keyboards before, they were both from Microsoft, both wired and wireless. Both of them only served in less than two years of time and one of the critical keys went wrong.

Is there any other ergonomic substitution of better quality recommended? wireless preferred.
