    Getting: Syntax Error (Syntax Error)

    Hi,

It's possible that you're receiving the Syntax Error due to program incompatibility. We'd like to learn more about your concern so we could
provide the proper resolution. We just have a few questions for you:

    • Have you checked with the software manufacturer if this particular software is compatible with Windows 10?

    • Which version of Windows 10 is on your computer? To check, click
Start, type winver, and press Enter.

    • Since you mentioned that you couldn't read anything from the application when you're trying to install it, is there an English version of the game that you can install instead?

    • What is the name of the game?

    • Have you checked if your computer meets the game's system requirements?

    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

    microsoft syntax

Can anyone point me to a definitive, "official" reference to the current (i.e., Win10 and Win11) Windows desktop search syntax?

I find myself very frustrated in my efforts to locate official and definitive reference documentation regarding the desktop search function in Windows 10 and Windows 11. I would think that such a document must exist somewhere, and that it would be something available to users directly from some authoritative Microsoft source.

Can anyone from Microsoft point me to that reference? ... anyone from Anywhere?

What I would expect to be able to find is a standard list of keywords (with syntax, parameters, usage and examples) of all the search commands and terms... Am I being unrealistic in thinking this should really be a no brainer?

Something akin to the Advanced Query Syntax on Microsoft Docs web page, but for more current versions than Windows XP and Windows Server 2003... a note on that page states "Windows Desktop Search 2.x is an obsolete technology" - then suggests "On later releases, use Windows Search instead." Looking for syntax info using that route eventually circles back to the "Advanced Query Syntax" page on Microsoft Docs - the one that's apparently "an obsolete technology".

    Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance, if you can help.
