Windows 10: Microsoft tabs always closing

    Microsoft tabs always closing


    Heyi recently changed my mother board and cant use a product key so i tried to use the troubleshoot feature and click on "i changed hardware on this device recently" then the Microsoft account tabs opens quick and instantly closes itself. the same happens when i click on get help and then try sign into my account or when i click on making another microsoft account.

    Thank you for providing us the details.

    I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.

    • Press Windows + R keys, opens the Run Command.
    • Type inetcpl.cpl and hit Enter.
    • Under General Tab, select Tabs.
    • Select if the Warn me when closing the multiple tabs is
      checked      .

    Microsoft Edge: want to close current tab

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

    I suggest you to keep cursor on the tab to the right corner and check if it show the Red Cross mark to close the current tab.

    If the Red Cross mark does not show then I suggest you to run sfc scan and check if it helps:

    SFC/Scannow checks your Windows installation for errors and corrects them. This will help with ensuring that a smooth upgrade occurs.

    • Type Win + R on the keyboard
    • Type: CMD and hit OK
    • At the Command Prompt, type: sfc/scannow

    Microsoft tabs always closing

    can't close current tab in Windows 10

    When I try to close the current tab, a dropdown asks if I want to close all tabs or cancel, even if I only have one "tab" up. I have to respond to this in order to close anything. If I chose cancel, the current tab remains, as one would expect. If I choose
    close all tabs, no matter how many I have up, it drops me to the lock screen, and I have to start over. Using Cortana, I have to go back through the original steps to get to the first page of my search. I can close steps in the search box, but that doesn't
    work for everything.
