    Upgrading windows 10 TP to RTM

    That the problem. No one know how a clean install of windows 10 preview will work once upgraded to windows 10 rtm. Like Smittychat said
    Microsoft might actually allow preview users to install RTM free of charge but could then require a license to activate the operating system, so they would be able to run it on their computers for a limited time.

    If Microsoft is going to keep the insiders program going after the Windows 10 RTM they shouldn't require a previous license to keep testing unless there are going to change the program.,

    I also have hunch, that Microsoft is going to continue the insider program a different way by allowing home users to test windows 10. Consumers will have a choice between a fast and slow build. The slow build nothing is reported or monitored on your
    computer to Microsoft. That why 10 preview may need a windows 7 or 8.1 license. There is another issue as well. The current build is a windows 10 pro preview but some systems were upgraded from home. I am not sure Microsoft wants to give windows
    10 pro away for free to insiders. Of course this is just my opinion.
