Windows 10: Microsoft tests new feature for Action Center in Windows 10 20H1

Windows 10 20H1 is slowly becoming the update to wait for, as the latest preview builds include both big and small changes. After introducing new Windows Update advanced controls, Microsoft has quietly added a new option to the Action Center that would help you manage your notifications.

Windows 10 20H1’s Action Center comes with a new Manage notifications option located in the top right corner. The option launches the Windows 10’s notifications settings page (Settings > System > Notifications & actions).

Microsoft is working another nifty improvement for Windows 10 notification that would make it possible for users to turn off notifications for a selected app without even opening Action Center.



For instance, when notifications for apps such as Twitter or Facebook shows up on the screen, you can right-click on notification to access the following two options:

• Go to notification settings: As the name suggestions, this option opens Notification settings of the particular app.
• Turn off notifications for [app name]: This option will turn off all the notifications from the selected app.

As you can see the above screenshot, there is also a settings cog icon and right faced arrow. All the aforementioned changes aren’t accessible in Windows 10 May 2019 Update or older.

Only a small number of devices are getting the new Action Center changes and Microsoft hasn’t officially announced new notifications feature.

Microsoft spoke at length about Azure Cloud, Office 365, Xamarin, cross-platform development, Skype, chat bots, and the Universal Windows Platform during its two streaming keynotes at Build 2016. What the company didn’t speak about at length were new Windows 10 features. In a sort of cursory glance, Build 2016 attendees were given the high-level bullet points about an upcoming Anniversary Update coming to Windows 10 users, and that was seemingly all.

However, being a developer-centric event, it appears Microsoft would rather save its list of upcoming Windows 10 features for more focused and intimate developer sessions. During a session titled Notification Futures: Action Center in the Cloud and the Windows Notification Platform, developers were given an in-depth fifty-minute walkthrough of all the features coming to Windows 10 notifications and Action Center.

Microsoft testing blue light reduction feature for Windows 10

"Microsoft is slowly revealing new features in its next major update to Windows 10, and it appears blue light reduction feature might be a future addition. The software giant released a new build of Windows 10 testers yesterday with very few visible additions, but Windows enthusiasts have already started picking it apart for clues on new features. Twitter user "Core"has discovered references to a "BlueLightReduction" setting deep within the next major update to Windows 10 (codenamed Redstone 2). It appears to be a setting that will be toggled from the Action Center (notification center) in the operating system.

F.lux has been the most popular option for Windows users looking to reduce blue light in the evenings, but Microsoft's own native toggle will bring this feature to every Windows 10 user. Apple has also integrated a similar feature in iOS 9, but it hasn't announced any plans to bring blue light reduction to Mac OS yet. Microsoft only appears to be testing the feature right now, so there's no guarantee it will ship in the update due early next year. If Microsoft does implement it fully then it will presumably be available on the mobile version of Windows 10, too."

Stop action center notifications in Windows 10

To stop action center notifications, I suggest you to follow the steps given below:

  Type settings in search bar and hit
  enter.
  
• 
  Go to system.
  
• 
  Select notifications and actions.
  
• 
  Click on turn system icons on or off.
  
• 
  Turn off action center.
