Windows 10: Microsoft To Do immediately closes sign in window. Mail app don't sign to my account

Hello, I am trying to connect to my account via Microsoft To Do. However the sign in window immediately disappear after I click the Sign In button. I am trying to connect to my student business account. moreover, I am trying to link my student account to the Mail app in windows, but when I sign in the windows just closes and it takes me back to the sign in options.

Mail app only working when signed in under Admin account


Upgraded from Windows 7 about two months ago, but this just started a few days ago.
Tried to read my email and found that I could not use the mail app when signed in under my User account. (previously worked fine.)
If I sign in under my Admin account, the mail app works normally.
I've tried deleting and reinstalling the mail/calendar app, and now I don't even have the icons to launch them- not even listed on the start menu, except when using the Admin account.
Is there another way to launch or repair the app?
Any suggested fixes?
Don't want to keep having to sign in as Admin just to read my email.

Sign in with Microsoft account suspended


I can't sign in with a Microsoft, it is disabled when i click the "Sign in with a Microsoft account instead" the link goes grey when I click it and nothing happens. I also can't sign in to the Mail app for the same reason. When I click Add account the same thing just happens and also can't sign in via the App store.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Signing into Onenote app converts local account to microsoft account

Steps:

• Sign into a local account
• Open the OneNote app (tablet not desktop app)
• Sign in to this app with a Microsoft account

The local account is then converted into a Microsoft account with that identity.

This is wrong and unexpected behaviour as no indication is given that the sign in is for the whole of windows rather than just OneNote.

It is also hard to revert.

I am guessing that other apps may exhibit the same behaviour.

In fact I don't understand how an app (which is supposed to be sandboxed and secure) can change user account information.
