Windows 10: Microsoft update catalog website language choice unavaillable

Note: my question is specific to "Microsoft Update Catalog Website". No link is offered to change the website language.

I have searched for this on Home screen and the next screen after a search.


O/S: Windows 10 Pro French, up-to-date.

1. Sometimes writing en-us in the address, works. But not this time.
2. I interchanged these 2 words in the address like this: update.catalog. Does not work.

The problem is that I'm in Canada not France. Sometimes what they translate, it's light years away of our understanding here in North America. And especially anything technical about Microsoft has to be read in English.


This problem is very annoying, and here it's only "The tip of the iceberg". In general it spreads everywhere around many websites. When I enter an address which should land on an English site it should stay AS IS.

When I want to buy something I don't want to end up with dam Euro prices !

• Type “Troubleshooting” in search box and press Enter.
• Click on “View All” option on top left pane.

Microsoft Update Catalog Website

Not sure the Windows Update troubleshooter can fix the Microsoft Update Catalog Website not being coded particularly well.

3 months later the Microsoft Update Catalog Website still says use IE6 or higher.

I'm using Edge and IE 11. I can vaguely understand Edge being rejected (but really?) however 11 is normally higher than 6. Unless you compare numbers as strings, then it isn't higher.

My question is "Where would be the best place to report the issue so someone might actually fix it?" (For clarification, the issue is that the Microsoft Update Catalog Website is incorrectly rejecting browsers which should pass the version check.)

Is there a service status page so I can see when the Windows Update Catalog is back?

I need to patch a Win10 machine that hasn't been able to automatic update for a while and the catalog is reporting service unavailable
