Windows 10: Microsoft VDI on Vmware 6.7 Networking

I am trying to deploy Microsoft 2016 VDI on a Vmware 6.7 host and having issues with internet connectivity on Windows 10 VM's. I can see that the VM is getting an IP address and the Hyper V host has internet. Can someone point me to some documentation on how to properly configure the virtual switches. I have seen information on setting up sharing but I cannot get any of it to work. I am very familiar with the Vmware side , but a novice when it comes to Hyper V. Windows 10 update KB4057247 cannot be removed and causing issue with VMWare VDI Desktops

Hello. We are running Windows 10 version 1607, build 14393.1944. Updates installed and we are running into problems with version 1709 Build 16299.125 in a VMWare Horizon View VDI desktop pool. KB4055994, 4055237, and 4057247 are showing as having installed
today. I'm able to remove the first two, but the update KB4057247 cannot be removed, and causes the Horizon View agent to not be able to communicate with Horizon View. If I install the update on the base image and recompose the VDI desktop, it errors out
during the provisioning stage when it tries to join the domain (this is based on the VMWare erro message). If I compose the VDI desktop and then install the updates and reboot, I get the error "Run DLL WINDOWS 10 error The application has failed to start
because the side by side configuration is incorrect.", and the computer will no longer communicate with the Horizon View console, and can only be connected to via VSphere. I've run dism.exe, installed the Visual C++ 2013 redistributable package, and I've
tried updating the Horizon View agent, but I still cannot connect. Has anyone run into this issue and found a fix? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Early Design of VMware Project

Purpose:
This is a Point Of Sale system in a retail environment. The Point of Sale (POS) software is a Visual Basic program that shares a Microsoft Access database via a shared folder.

Hardware:
One ‘server’ running VMware Workstation Pro
Seven VMs running Win 7
Remote PCs running Win 7 or Win 10
All remote PCs are late-model Dell PCs physically located within 30 feet of the server, connected to a Gig switch using Cat 6 factory cables.

Questions:

1. Is Workstation Pro the best choice?
2. What is an optimal operating system for server?
3. How much RAM for server?
4. Is SSD hard drive(s) a good idea?
5. Should remote PCs connect to server via RDP or Workstation Player?

Concerns/Comments:
The POS software’s design occasionally has difficulty operating via the shared network folders when operating on the LAN.

Initial tests using VMware, the POS software appears to operate with great reliability as the POS database is shared on a local virtual machine.

Of course, the remote PCs need reliable connection to the server

Any other suggestions or guidance is appreciated.
