Windows 10: Microsoft visual c++ 2015 error when running steam games

When i launch a steam game that needs to install visual c++ i get this error



If i hit ok i get this error



Ive gone through my program list and uninstalled all of the microsoft visual C++ programs listed, and reinstalled them but i still get the error.

This happened to Bully: Scholarship Edition and now GTA IV. Any fix?

- I would try using the Steam 'verify integrity of game cache' tool first.

(R/click on the games title in your Steam Library and go to Properties > Local Files )

Failing the above, side-by-side errors are related to MS Visual C++, and generally result from a conflict,

corrupt file, or occasionally because in a fit of housekeeping the User has uninstalled what may look like a

lot of unnecessary C++ versions via Programs and Features.

- Steam downloads will generally have a folder with one or more Redistributeables ,
eg- Visual C++, DirectX, etc.

Look for this folder in each of the games you are getting this error with and reinstall C++ from the
vcredist.exe

that comes with that game.

The error report is pretty generic. Have you tried running Steams - Verify Integrity of Game Files tool ?

(R/click on the games title in your Steam Library > Properties > Local Files).

- If you have been able to run the game prior to the error, have you installed any DLC, mods or changed

graphics settings recently ?

- If you do not shut your machine down, have you rebooted since installing the game ?

- Try disabling your Anti-Virus temporarily to verify it is not blocking the game silently.

- Check that all DirectX files are installed by running the DirectX Web Installer...
