Removing homegroups without any notice to users - you just see that that your shares have become 'media devices'.

No results when you search homegroups, not even a message to say 'they have been removed'.

It seems that file history will go the same way, potentially leaving millions of people to discover their backups are useless... trying to force people onto the cloud, regardless of their internet connection is one thing. Doing it without warning or advice is just customer bashing.

There are many lesser and major changes, such as removing Window image previewer as a default and breaking the help for older programs (Winhelp32, that just leave people feeling cheated or confused.

    PLEASE MICROSOFT:

If you are going to change significant areas of functionality in Windows, don't rely on people searching the utterly confusing knowledgebase or coming on here to be faced with multi-step solutions that often rely on delving into the registry, using unfamiliar utilities (without clear explanation of what or why you are changing) or links to third party websites that often set all my security instincts on edge.

Please just make sure a clear simple explanation of the change is displayed clearly to suers in advance with simple advice on what to do as an alternative.

When a function is deprecated or removed put a message to say so that comes up when you try to use or search for the function! Don't leave people thinking they are going insane.

As a user of PCs since 1981 the insolent attitude of Microsoft has got me listening to the siren voices of Linux and Chrome.

Microsoft. Please stop punishing me for loyalty to your operating system.

    :)

  2. Removing a "hidden" user and user files

Thanks for your patience. I was able with "Net User" to remove the left over user. It no longer appears when I invoke Net User.

Now for the user's folder which remains behind. After performing the series of steps that you suggested, I attempted to delete this folder. The result again was an error message about permission

  3. Microsoft signals end of Paint program

Microsoft has confirmed that it will continue to offer its graphics program Paint.

In a recent update, it had listed Paint as a feature that would be either removed or no longer developed.

Paint, renowned for its simplicity, has been part of the Windows operating system since its launch in 1985.

Microsoft suggested it would not remain on Windows 10 by default but did say it would be available for free on the Windows Store.

    Remove account

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:
    • Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
    • Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code: net user test /del[/quote]
