Thanks for your update. After doing some research, I'm going to ask you to refrain from installing this update. There are reports it is causing system hangs and crashes.

Mine booted fine but I got three sudden reboots, no BSOD, no minidump, no warning, in a few hours. I did an un-install which was partially successful - it said not all updates were successfully removed, but so far after many hours of use no problem.

 

OK, I just did a restore from the backup I made right after the update and was able to undo the update with no problems. Looks like those sudden reboots had done some damage to the base OS. Let's see if the reboots don't happen now.

 

After installing KB4041676 there were no problems. But when I booted the computer from the Acronis CD to make a backup copy, there was a spontaneous reboot without BSOD, bypassing the BIOS settings. After that, the system did not detect any damage, but there was a constant overheating of the computer by 10-12 degrees. I could not find the reason. The thermopaste is fresh. Computer laptop MSI GT60 2PE Dominator 3K Edition.

 

Since MS released W10 the quality of Windows Updates (all versions) has been awful.

If MS hadn't sacked 1000s of workers, maybe they would be able to release properly tested updates.
