    I think people were afraid of Windows 8 because it was too different. But those of us who have been hands on with Windows for a long time didn't have much trouble beating it and much better 8.1 into the shape we wanted. Windows 10 may well come out on top later, but for now I still say 8.1 is the best version of Windows ever.

    How can I get Whatsapp?

    The publisher is working on a new version for Windows Phone 8 that will be six times faster than the old WP7 version (according to the publisher). Hopefully we will see it soon. No date has been announced though.

    Classic Shell from Win 8

    It doesn't prevent. In fact Classic Shell works on Windows 10 too and offers a better, faster Start Menu than Windows 10's menu. But you can uninstall it and put it back after the upgrade.

    Besides all my other computers and tablets I have a Mac Mini with Windows 10 running in Bootcamp, so I'm on a Mac forum as well as Windows forums. I can tell you this, Mac people love Windows 10 and a lot have upgraded.

    While I personally loved Windows 8.1 and didn't really need a menu I can understand some people needing it, it certainly looks like Microsoft is back on track.

    I'm not surprised. Being a free upgrade from 7/8.1 would jump start adoption.. that and it's more like 7 and it made adjustment a bit easier then 8 did.

    I personally never had any problems adjusting to Windows 8 and found it way easier to navigate than Windows 7, I rarely used the Menu in 7 anyway, so it was no biggie to me.

    Let's see, it's a free upgrade, but only free for 1 year. I bet the adoption rates are much higher in year 1. Bet it slows when it comes time to pay.

    In reality it's like comparing apples to oranges. Giving away an OS has far too much weight into the comparison, let alone the "Auto Upgrade to 10" "Feature" they supposedly accidentally added! They will undoubtedly be hailing it at the most popular OS ever as well when I still think 7 will always be better.
