Windows 10: Microsoft Windows security auditing continuously crashes game.

Hey all,

I have an issue where my games keep crashing. I look in the event viewer and the only events that correspond at all and always are Microsoft Windows security auditing events. The event ID's are 4672 and 4624. I should also mention that while my game crashes always coincide with these events, these events happen sometimes without crashing my game. Also, there is absolutely nothing else I can find that coincides with my games crashing, and I'm fully up to date on windows updates and drivers. Also, I've restarted multiple times and this issue persists.

I've looked at my Local Security Policy, and supposedly all Auditing is not configured, and the only configuration options are "Success" or "Failure". I have no clue what that is even supposed to mean. What is a success? What is a failure? Where is enable/disable?

I don't know exactly what these events are meant to do, but I would appreciate any help in stopping my games from crashing as a result of them.

P.S. Your flair select box is broken. The bottom part of it displays below the page. Fortunately I know my way around a web browser and could move it up, so I could actually interact with it. I wonder how many people are simply unable to post here because of it, since it's required. smh

Security Audit constantly causing online games to crash

This is exactly my issue with a Radeon Rx480 (latest drivers/bios/no overclock etc etc).

The windows security audit is causing a freeze or crash of my radeon drivers in most of my online games.

It's driving me a bit crazy so I would really appreciate a deeper look into this issue and any help you can offer please.

Can I turn off this audit function or something?

Looks like it’s a successful login event ID...

And there is a 5 next to logon type.

5 Service A service was started by the Service Control Manager.

I feel like we have service that is kicking off, causing your game to crash, but what one?

Hit the windows + r, and then type “msconfig” - go to the services tab.

There should be a button “hide all Microsoft services” - button that off. Disable the rest. Do a reboot, and then try to launch your game(s)

See if it crashes. If not, you could do a guess and check on the services by adding 1,2,3 back at a time. When it crashes, you know it’s one of those.

windows 8.1 is executing winsat.exe automatically even though its disabled in task scheduler.

windows 8.1 is executing winsat.exe automatically even though its disabled in task scheduler. When Checking event viewer security logs it tells me someone logged into my computer even though I was already logged in but idle and executed winsat.exe. Is this normal or is someone logging into my computer remotely? I have multiple logins and special logins in my Log and logoffs when i did not logoff.
