Windows 10: MIcrosoft/Windows Store Not Starting When Clicked On

A few weeks ago, I went to the WindowsApps file and changed the properties to allow me to enter and edit something on an app and there were some problems with the app so I deleted it off of my computer. After this, whenever I clicked on Windows Store, it would crash instantly after opening. I've tried uninstalling it through the app settings but the option was unavailable and I reset it through app settings but that didn't do anything. I've also done various other solutions like uninstall and reinstall through Powershell or whatever it's called multiple times, I've done wsreset multiple times,

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

• Launch the Store from your Start menu.
• Click the user icon next to the search box.
• Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
• Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
• When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”

Do let us know the exact issue you are facing in accessing the Windows Store?

Have you tried to reset the Windows Store as stated in the above response?

If the issue still persists after deploying the above troubleshooting steps, try the below and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to run Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter
and check.

Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter, troubleshoots problems that may prevent Windows Store Apps from working correctly.

1. Press
Windows + X keys from the keyboard, click on Control Panel.

2. In the
Control Panel window, select Category and then select
Large icons.

3. Click on
Troubleshooting.

4. Click
View all and then click Windows Store Apps.

5. Click
Next and follow on-screen instructions.

Step 2: I suggest you to install all the pending updates on your device.

Steps:

• Connect to the internet.
• Press Windows key and type
  updates.
• Click on Check for updates.
• Under Windows Updates, click on
  Check for updates.
• Try to install the updates being shown.

Window Store app not starting in Windows 10

Thank you for letting us know the outcome of the suggested troubleshooting steps.

Please be informed that in order to access the
Windows Store and to download and run apps, you need an active Internet connection and a screen resolution of at least 1024 x 768.

Now, follow the below methods and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

Method 1

As an initial recommendation, I suggest you to check if the status of the Windows Store Services is started and set as automatic.

1. Tab on Win+R, to open Run Command.

2. In the dialog box, type services.msc

3. Here locate Windows Store Services, double click to open it.

4. Once done, click on the Start button and check.

Method 2

If that does not help, if you are using a Microsoft Account, you may convert the account to a Local account and back to Microsoft account and check if you are then able to run the Windows Store app:

To convert the account, you can do the following:

• 
  Sign in to your Microsoft account.
  
• 
  Click Start and then PC settings.
  
• 
  Click Users and accounts and under your Profile select “Sign in with a local account instead ” option.
  
• 
  Enter the required details.
  
• 
  Type in a Username, Password, and Password Hint that you want set for your Local account and click
  Next. Click on Sign out and Finish button.
  

In order to switch back, follow these steps:

• 
  On the newly converted Local account, click Start and then PC Settings.
  
• 
  Click Users and accounts and under Your Profile click Connect to a Microsoft account.
  
• 
  Enter the Microsoft account ID and Password and click Next.
  
• 
  Choose if you want OneDrive as your default file saving location, click Next.
  
• 
  Click Switch.
