Windows 10: Microsoft Wireless Mouse 2.0 {1008 I think}

So I have a wireless mouse {see title} that I'm currently using on my Dell Inspiron desk with Windows 7. With the demise of Windows 7 support approaching, I am purchasing a new Dell Inspiron desktop with Windows 10 installed. Really like this mouse. its just a basic no thrills mouse that I'm comfortable with. Software disk is for windows 7 and my research came up with nothing for Windows 10. Its just a basic wireless mouse {left right click scroll} that fits my hand well. My questions are do I really need the software. If I plug the reciever in and turn on the mouse with Windows 10 recognize it? Thanks. Also have a Microsoft 4000 keyboard but not the same issue. there are Windows 10 downloads for that so should be ok there. Thanks for your time

troubleshooter and check.

Hardware and Devices troubleshooter checks for common problems and makes sure that any new device or hardware connected to your PC is installed correctly.

• Click on the Start button, and type “Troubleshooting” on the search bar.
• Click on troubleshooting, then click on “Hardware and Devices”.
• A pop-up will appear, click on the “Next” button and your hardware troubleshooting will start.

Not working wireless mouse could be due to the following:

• Outdated device driver
• No device driver installed
• Faulty wireless mouse receiver

We would like to know some information to better isolate the issue:

• Have you done any changes (like updating your Windows) on your computer prior to the issue?
  
• Have you tried using using your wireless mouse on other computer and checked if the issue persists?
• Have you tried updating your wireless mouse driver?

Looking Windows10 driver for Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard 1.0A, Model 1027

I looked up the site suggested website and was not able to find an upgrade for Microsoft wireless Comfort keyboard model #1027 and the wireless optical mouse 2.0 model #1008 for Windows 10 . Any other suggestions out there?
