    Microsoft word won't open


    Whenever I open Microsoft word on my Computer, it says "Word Couldn't start last time. Safe mode could help you troubleshoot the problem, but some features might not be available in the mode."When I say yes, it opens a completely blank word file, nowhere to type. If I try to open a saved file, they're all missing, but if I try to open a new one, it opens for a second before closing completely.When I say no, it begins to load before not opening.What am I supposed to do? I've restarted the computer, but that did nothing.This began after a game crashed and the computer wouldn't turn off.

    microsoft word 2003

    I have a lot of ms word files on my pc. But one of them showed me an error - Getting unknown error messages while opening (.doc) or (.docx) files. I don't know how to open my word file or repair microsoft word. Any suggestions, guys, please.

    Is it just one file, or all your word files?

    With the exception of Outlook, I have yet to find a reason to stop using Office 2000, 2003, and 2007. They open all the latest files just fine, and they work just fine.

    We appreciate you for trying the troubleshooting steps.



    I suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.

    Step 1: Run Windows app troubleshooter.

    Refer to the below link:

    Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store - Microsoft Support

    Step 2: Run shell commands for Windows store and check if it helps.

    Follow the below steps:


    • Press Windows key + X and select
      Command prompt(Admin)       to open elevated Command prompt.

    • Type the following commands.



      powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.xml

    • Hit enter, the blackscreen will appear still for a couple of seconds. After a couple of second a new line saying C:\.... will appear.

    • Close Command Prompt.

    • Try to start the Windows Store again.
