Windows 10: Microsoft, You screwed up!

I am posting notice here that Microsoft screwed up my system royally.


To wit, Microsoft just installed some form of an upgrade to the Microsoft Windows 10 operating system, which happened today for my laptop machine. The trouble is that this new installation wiped out all of my custom settings. My task bar at the bottom of my desktop has none of the application icons that I had added to that task bar over time. My default browser was changed and my Chrome browser login was removed so that when I opened it up it was as though I was a new person. God knows if they destroyed any of my saved passwords. My desktop was reset to a Microsoft logo when I had previously chosen a custom color that I don't think I am going to be able to recreate.


This is the kind of stuff that you, Microsoft, should not be doing. I don't give a **** what new features that you provide,


DON'T TOUCH MY INTERFACE !!!!!


You are making me do useless work just to get back to where I was. I am pissed!

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region


I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

Another question, is this on a home network or a work network? The steps @eidairaman1 listed are always a good first step. If this is on a work network you manage, I'd be much more concerned than the home one. It is possible someone is screwing with you, but malware could also be the culprit.

• When you set up the account, did you create a local account or Microsoft account?
  
• What is the exact error message you get when you try to login?

I suggest you to check if you have activated two step verification for your account. If yes, I suggest you to turn it off and check.

Also check if the Windows Update was successfully installed on your computer.

• Press Windows Key + I and click on Update and Security.
• Under Windows Update tab, click on Advanced options
• Click on View update history and check if the update is installed properly.
