    Microsoft's Network Speed App. What does Service Not Available Mean?


    I have been trying to use the Network Speed App. The App appears to work for download speeds, but it never switches to testing the upload speed test; and gives the following error message. "Service UnavailableLooks like the service to perform a speed test isn't available right now. Try again later."What does this message mean? Is it saying that a Microsoft service is not available? or that it couldn't connect for the upload test? I couldn't find any error messages in the event viewer. Are the error messages stored somewhere other than in event viewer?Also, is this the right forum for th

    Network Speed Test app's service unaveilable

    Hi Ziv....

    I too am getting this same problem. You might have to reinstall your Windows 10 Store apps.

    A quick fix was recomended by S Dhiman2 which reinstalls all apps.

    Here's the steps to follow:

    The following command reinstalls all apps in Windows:

    > Open Start Menu and type powershell.

    Right-click on PowerShell

    then select "Run as Administrator" option.

    >Then Enter the following command that will reinstall all the modern apps in Windows :

    • Get-AppxPackage -allusers | foreach {Add-AppxPackage -register

    "$($_.InstallLocation)\appxmanifest.xml" -DisableDevelopmentMode}

    I did this fix and my Network Speed Test apps is now working.

    Network Speed Test app's service unaveilable

    I open the Network Speed Test, and press Start to begin the speed test, and the process is loading. However the app says "Service unavailable: looks like the service to perform a speed test isn't available right now. Please try again later".

    Why is the service not working when I open the app, and how do I resolve this?

    Network Speed Test, Service unavailable, for days

    Thank you for the reply;

    • wireless, its a surface pro3 windows 10
    • the speed test is an app
    • no,did not touch anything Microsoft's Network Speed App. What does Service Not Available Mean? :)
    • yes, it never worked.
    there is no update waiting to be installed, did uninstall and install the app, still no service available.
