  1. Midi over usb devices suddenly stop working.

So I have a few midi peripherals for my pro audio windows computer. After several months of stability, suddenly one device will stop working forever. The usual uninstall, change cables and ports etc all tried to death. The only fix is creating a new windows profile and everything works fine then. First thing to die was my faderport 16. Created a new profile and everything works. Now my Akai MPD226 Is dead. Works in the old profile my faderport doesn’t work in. I get system stability for months then one device just quits and never comes back. Anyone with any help here???

    :)

  2. USB MIDI Audio Interface (M-Audio USB MIDI device) - not working in certain applications for MIDI Input.

    I'm using Windows 10 Pro.

    1) I have a MIDI keyboard connected to my desktop via a M-Audio USB MIDI Interface.

    2) This device has worked before fine, but all-of-a-sudden, one of the apps I use to write music (Famitracker) suddenly will not open the MIDI Input. It's the same error I get when another application is using the MIDI controller at the same time - maybe
there is some service or application running in the background that is using the MIDI controller? If so, I can't figure out what it would be.

    3) MIDI-OX (the software used to test MIDI input/output) also will not open the MIDI controller input. It says Unknown external error.

    4) However, Finale V 25 detects the MIDI controller and I am able to use my MIDI keyboard just fine.

I would appreciate any help in this regard.

  3. MIDI USB Class Compliant Devices Do Not Work in Windows 10

Hey I had the same exact problem and this is how I fixed it, even if it doesn't work everytime! (but it is repeatable with an high rate of success)

    My keyboard is a CASIO CTK - 2400 and I run win10 on a Laptop/Tablet configuration.

This is how I managed to make it work and what I suggest you try:

-Connect the keyboard to a USB 3.0 port and turn it on (this is how I did it so I suggest you try this before trying it another way)

-Go to Settings>Devices>Connected devices and click on Device manager

-Check for the connection (my PC did recognize the keyboard as an unknown USB device)

-Press right click on Sound, video and game controllers and select "Scan for hardware changes"

-When I did it the PC finally recognized the keyboard showing a CASIO driver

after that the keyboard wouldn't still send MIDI signals but I knew it was recognized so I insisted to find a way with the DAW Fruity Loops and this is how I make it work every time!

    -turn off the keyboard

-open the DAW and turn on the keyboard

    -refresh the MIDI device list

-when it's connected to the USB 3.0 port it works only briefly (couple seconds)

-when it's connected to the USB 2.0 port it works perfectly (just a really tiny lag but it may be because of the keyboard anyway nothing too bad)

-sometimes it stops working even when plugged in the USB 2.0 port my suggestion is to reset the DAW and then the PC and see if it fixes it

This is not ideal for live perfomances... but good enough for studio sessions.

I hope this was of help, God bless!

Bluetooth MIDI device visibility problem in WIN10

Hello. Although WIN10 allows you to connect a BlueTooth MIDI device, the following problem occurs:

Although BT MIDI devices (in my case Roland GO: KEYS) can be paired with the computer - "paired" appears in the connection manager and the keyboard apparently communicates with the computer which accepts MIDI data - for example in MIDIberry, in DAW programs
(like Sonar, Ableton, NI KontaKt, Sibelius, etc.) the device does not appear in the list of available MIDI devices. As if not present.

2 times it happened that all of a sudden, a message came out of the notification center: GO: KEYS MIDI is ready for use and the device was visible and functional in all applications. It took only a few hours until it stopped showing up again. Are you familiar
with how this works and how can you solve it? The device is listed in the device manager and the drivers are updated. Thank you.
