Windows 10: migrate win 10 operating system to already installed SSD

Hi, I have an ASUS laptop with win10 installed as as originally purchased. It has a 28GB hard drive, but this is now full and the machine is really slow, and cannot install windows updates. I've cleaned and compressed the c drive, but this has shown little improvement in speed.Some time ago, I installed a crucial 465GB SSD in the hope of speeding up the machine, but it's not done so. I had win 81 pro and upgraded to 10 pro... hdd...

Now plan to migrate to ssd... what is best...?

I did the Diskpart step that SWI2 explained in post #14 and rebooted, but I still see drive D having the system label.

Hi,

Please advise and share the steps/tools to migrate Windows 10 (home edition) OEM to SSD.

I recently purchased a 500gb SSD and installed them on my HP Pavilion 15 and my would like to move my OS to SSD

Any precautionary steps to be taken before migrating?
