Got a Samsung Evo 970 and I want to move the files and programs from my Samsung 860 to that as that’ll be where I want the OS to be on now. How do I go about this? Is there no way and I would just need to reinstall everything on the new OS and move documents and stuff using another hard drive?

    Migrating Win10 to NVMe SSD

I am going to try what you suggested. I just tried using Linux Mint boot cd to hopefully erase the SSD. Unfortunately there seems to be some sort of encryption on the SATA SSD that prevents Linux from managing the SSD. Funny thing is I never used bitlocker on the SATA SSD.

So enable hot swapping, boot to the OS on the NVME and then connect the SATA SSD? I have a USB to SATA adapter for SSD's and 2.5" HDD's and that's a quick way to do just that too.

You should still be able to boot to the NVMe SSD OS installation, then format the SATA SSD in Disk Management. If it is that much trouble, can you limit booting only to the NVME drive in UEFI? Then that would force it to look at that drive for OS duties, allowing you to view and manage the SATA SSD while already booted to the OS.

Migration OS to a new SSD

I have a 1 TB HDD whit Win 10 home. Yesterday i bought a new 500 Gb SSD and I would know how i can migrate only mine OS and not all my file. Is it possible? how i can do it? A friend told me i can install windows 10 from the Microsoft site for free, and
put my product key of the os of the old hdd in this new ssd. Is it true? Because i can't find this.
