Windows 10: Migrating files from PC to iMac

Hello, I am following the instructions from Apple to migrate my files from my very old PC. At the Start menu, I click ‘run’ then ‘cmd’, add ‘chkdsk’ at the prompt and receive the message ‘Access Denied as you do not have sufficient privileges or the disk may be locked by another process.You have to invoke this utility running in elevated mode and make sure the disk is unlocked’.What should I do about this? How do I unlock the disk?Thanks.

File sharing with iMac

I can access files that are on my iMac from my Windows PC however when I try to access files that are on my Windows PC from my iMac (by going into Finder > Network > WindowsPC) I cannot access any files. The
screen (on the iMac) will say Connecting... for a while, and then say Connection failed.

How can I view Windows files from my iMac?

Can you provide us additional information for us to check other workarounds to resolve your issue:

• Were you able to do a ping test from the Windows PC to the iMac?
• If yes, may we ask for the screenshot of the ping test results.
• Can you send us a screenshot of the file transfer from iMac to Windows as well.

• Does it happen every time you use video call on Skype?
• Have you done any changes on your computer prior to the issue?
• Have you tried updating any drivers?
