Windows 10: Migrating from Windows 10 Enterprise to Windows 10 Pro

My laptop has Windows 10 Enterprise on it from a previous organization. We no longer have a connection to that organization and my license is expiring. How to I move to Windows 10 Pro? Is it as simply as purchasing a license and giving that activation key? Where should I get that license? I see everything from $39 which can't be right up to $159 on newegg and $199 on the microsoft site.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows 10 Home will be $119, Pro $199.

Microsoft: Windows 10 Home costs $119, Pro costs $199



Which is good news actually, because Windows 8.1 is loads cheaper than previous versions (retail licensing at Windows 7 OEM prices). And it sort of puts a huge hole in the Windows subscription theory.
