Windows 10: Minecarft refund

I bought Minecraft java originally on my Mac, before realizing I needed the windows/Microsoft version to play cross platform with people on an Xbox or windows laptop. When I went to buy it, the purchase went through, then said error, so I reloaded the page and it charged me twice, one for the base game and one for the started pack, which shouldn't have happened. Then I learned I can't register my Mac, so I went to return the game, as I had now spent $60 on games that do not work on my device. The return directions say that "some items may not be refundable," but I don't understand why I can't
