Windows 10: Minecraft 1.17

    Minecraft 1.17


    Since Minecraft 1.17 went live, I can no longer open Minecraft. I get the "Error: Cannot Create Java virtual machine" and "A fatal error has occurred." I have tried all the suggested fixes and none has worked. I set _JAVA_OPTIONS and set the memory to 512Mb, 1Gb, and even 1.5 GB, and no joy. My machine has 8GB RAM. I uninstalled and reinstalled Java. I opened Java with administrator rights. I uninstalled and reinstalled Minecraft. I opened Windows 10 in Safe Mode, to no avail. It seems this is a fairly common issue by how many articles and videos there are about it, but none of them have hel

    Homegroup For Minecraft Servers Or What?

    It looks as if the existing minecraft server will use the new system without modification - It needs to be able to access the computers on the network in a two way link, which is the standard for Workgroup and Homegroup

    There is a complete step by step available, if you have any issues ...

    It's not something I have any direct experience with but a quick read suggests to me that you will not need to do Much if any reconfiguration of the existing server
